The grand opening of HAAS Factory Outlet- Philips Machine Tools Technology Centre in Noida on 26th August 2022 will earmark a new journey for the metalworking industry in India. The grand opening will also witness Noida Demo Days for 3 days, where the latest machines from HAAS will be on Live Demo for the manufacturing community looking at robust machining solutions.

Targeting the North Indian market, HAAS Automation – HFO Phillips Machine Tools one of the top machine tool builders in the world, is opening a new Technical Centre in Noida. Making the opening grand, HFO Phillips Machine Tools is organising Noida Demo Days from 26 to 28 August, demonstrating the latest machines live for their customer.

We got the opportunity to speak exclusively to Terrence Miranda, Managing Director of Phillips Machine Tools Private Limited, talking about the new technology centre, and the Noida Demo Days. North India market has a “tremendous potential regarding manufacturing” and is capable of explosive growth, believes Terrence Miranda. This is one of the key markets for HAAS Automation in India, and Noida is well connected to all of Delhi NCR like Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Haryana, Greater Noida, Noida.

North India is already a very mature market for HFO Phillips Machine Tools. More than 500 machines are sold in the North Indian market, annually. The top priority is to provide 24-Hour support to the customers. With the new technology centre, HFO Phillips Machine Tools is all geared up to take customer service up a notch. There is a spare part warehouse in the location which will facilitate the service in a fast and timely manner.     At the Noida Demo Days, H HFO Phillips Machine Tools will display some of the latest innovations from HAAS on Live Demo. UMC-500SS is a superspeed version of the compact UMC-500. It is extremely accurate and fast and is driven by a Roller Cam rotary. “UMC-500SS offers a compact footprint, excellent pricing and will step the customer up from a simple 3 or 4 axes to 5 axes in an affordable, economical manner”, said Terrence Miranda.

The machine is equipped with a faster spindle, high-speed tool changer, and high-speed trunnion table to reduce cycle times and boost productivity. This is a “small package, delivering punch”, says Terrence Miranda.    The HAAS ST-10Y is a compact turning centre which has its own APS of HAAS and is auto-loaded. It has an extra-small footprint, yet it provides a generous work envelope. Equipped with Y-axis and live-to-tool, it increases the machine's capabilities and is handy for customers for milling, drilling, and tapping. The machine offers the best value for money in its category.     Additionally, HAAS Mini Mills will also be displayed. They are affordable for small, compact parts machining and are loaded with full-size features. They are used for training and are perfect for schools, start-up shops, or as a first step into CNC machining.     Apart from these machines, there are various other technologies which Haas will showcase at the event. The most popular is VF-2-I, which is exclusively available for India. The machine has been a rage in the country. HAAS has sold over 3000 machines in the last four to five years in India. VF-2-I has a 10,000-rpm inline direct-drive spindle and a 30+1 side-mount tool changer. It comes with a high-speed machining control option as well.

HAAS focuses on affordable automation and believes that this will change the idea of conventional machine shops, irrespective of the size of the machine shops or the salaries of the operators. While talking about striking the balance between automation and skilled engineers, Terrence Miranda believes that in future, “multitasking in automation is going to play a very important role.”     In the event, all machines displayed will be live demonstrated for the customers. HFO Phillips Machine Tools experts will be there to guide the visitors to cater to their doubts and make their experience hassle-free.
